PCA Ground Engineering is an innovative company offering design and construction piling and anchoring services throughout Australia. Recent successful contracts have resulted in our design and estimating team requiring additional resources as a result we are looking for candidates who are not afraid of a challenge to work hand in hand with our existing team.
Responsibilities include:
* Submitting E.O.I.'s, under instruction of the Estimating Manager.
* Completing tenders in a timely manner to allow for tender lodgement and client follow-ups.
* Provide updates to your manager on tendered projects for the "Pipeline Report" for submission at tender meetings and reporting.
* Review and accurately estimate the scope of work, including quantities and costs as described in tender documents in a timely and cost-effective manner using first principles estimating and assist in allocating the B.O.Q. for costing purposes.
* Develop and prepare risk and opportunity analysis of tenders, feasibilities and budgets for projects and presents these to internal and external stakeholders as required.
* Win bids by providing smart methodologies, strategies and identifying opportunities that can give PCA a competitive edge and win the contract.
* Complies with Company Quality Assurance Systems & Procedures along with other relevant operating procedures.
* Familiar with Contract Administration and the ability to interpret Contract Conditions and Construction Plans.
* Sound understanding of government Specifications & requirements for road & bridge works generally
* Review and check all new drawings, instructions & documentation received from either the client or authorities.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:
* A Technicians Certificate / Quantity Surveyor qualification or equivalent
* Experience in the piling, earth retention and ground improvement industry preferred or a minimum four years in a civil estimating background
* Moderate skills in Microsoft Office Products
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide leadership within the department
* Excellent Organisational Skills
* Ability to work autonomously
* Precise attention to detail
Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
* Knowledge of Expert Estimation (Pronamics)
