About the Service Management Modernisation Program:
The Service Management Modernisation Program (SMM) is a pivotal transformation to achieve the target state DevSecOps vision.
In simple terms, we aim to optimise some highly manual and administrative operational work, to simplify the life of service owners and engineers who build and run these services. This role will support directly this highly visible and in-demand roadmap of modernisation and automation.
The backlog of work can range from simplifying a process, eliminating some hands-off or attestations, to completely automating the way we run our compliance around technology controls. The technologies will be around Data and analytics, UI and dashboards, automations, and system integrations.
This newly formed squad will be embedded in SRE engineering and start working together with a new Product Manager who can balance effort and complexity across a list of improvements you will be involved with engineers in Business units to creatively solve their problems and pain points.
Main Responsibilities:
* Expert in reducing manual toil with automation.
* Architectural experience to assess manual processes and design, build, and deploy efficient, modern alternatives.
* System design and integration skills, ensuring all parts of the automation system are built and work together seamlessly.
* Excellent debugging skills. You will be required to debug complex technical issues involving multiple system components with complex relationships.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills to share ideas and solutions effectively.
* Natural mentorship ability to support and grow your peers.
Tech Skills:
You will need to be across a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all deeply, but experience or exposure to some of these will set you up for success in this team:
* Experience with GoLang, JavaScript, AWS, Python, SQL, microservices, RESTful APIs, system design, CI/CD, and architecture.
* Passion for mentoring and continually improving the processes for CBA engineers.
* Expert level experience with:
o Tools: Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
o Containerisation: Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
o Source control and CI/CD: GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
o Monitoring: Grafana and Prometheus.
* Expert with full SDLC and modern software engineering practices such as Trunk development, Unit Testing, Pen testing, and TDD.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in application development and design.
* Demonstrated experience with continuous delivery technologies, CI/CD complex solution design, and implementation at scale.
