The Haven offers a free and confidential service to local women who may need assistance with domestic and family violence, family and relationships, education and training, health and wellbeing, housing and accommodation options, financial matters, or any situation they may need support and assistance in dealing with.
We have a team of dedicated volunteers and the WIS Site Supervisor servicing The Haven at scheduled times.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Broad computer skills are necessary for effective communication.
* Negotiation and written communication skills are also required.
All volunteers must be willing to learn and undertake the WIS volunteer training program and mentor shifts.
Suitable For
This role is suitable for Centrelink volunteers, skilled volunteers, and those seeking work experience, providing companionship and social support, and counselling and help line services.
Commitment and Availability
A regular commitment of more than 6 months is required. Volunteers are rostered between Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Training and Support
Yes, training is provided for all volunteers.
