UGL's Industrial & Resources division are currently seeking a supervisor with a mechanical background to join our Kangaroo Valley site for an upcoming outage.

* 11-hour shifts, Monday through till Saturday

The station comprises two generating / pumping units at Kangaroo Valley, along with two generating units at Bendeela.

Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate all overhaul activities on turbines and generators, and associated systems to ensure safe and efficient execution
* Enforce strict adherence to safety procedures, isolations and permit systems
* Supervise crews and contractors, ensure work is completed to scope, quality standards, and schedule
* Plan, prioritise, and sequence tasks to meet shutdown milestones
* Monitor progress and provide regular updates to shutdown management and stakeholders
* Coordinate resources, tools, and materials to avoid delays in disruption
* Maintain accurate documentation
* Daily Timesheet keeping
* Conduct toolbox talks
* Work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
* Comply with safety standards and local regulations

Skills Required

* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, materials and processes
* A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in supervising mechanical projects, preferably Hydro Generator Turbine-related field
* Demonstrated experience in managing teams and resources successfully
* Strong leadership, organizational, and decision‐making skills
* Proficient in Microsoft 365 suites
* Solid interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with teams and stakeholders

Qualifications Required

* Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting and Machining)
* Additional certificates in Front Line Management are highly regarded
* White Card
* Drivers License
