Psychology Teacher (Diploma of Health Sciences) – Deakin College. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated teacher with a background in Psychology to join our Diploma of Health Sciences team at Deakin College. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and a passion for teaching and mentoring students. This role involves delivering engaging lectures, developing course materials, and collaborating closely with both the college and university teaching teams.
Key Responsibilities
High quality delivery of program materials resulting in strong academic outcomes and student satisfaction, including preparation of classes and associated materials.
Intensive support for students to ensure strong academic outcomes and student satisfaction, directing students to the Student Counsellor or Academic Skills Advisor as required.
Engage in professional development opportunities to maintain up to date and in depth knowledge of your relevant field.
Supervision and marking of assignments and exams.
Complete other tasks relating to the teaching function as required, including attendance at meetings and professional development activities, relevant administrative processes, assistance at orientation, graduation and other social activities.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in education and/or a relevant field of expertise related to the discipline being taught.
Extensive experience teaching higher education diplomas in a university pathway program or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with a learning management system to assist and enhance the delivery of subject content.
Demonstrated understanding of and empathy for a multicultural environment.
A comprehensive understanding of pathway programs and their articulation with university courses.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, meeting deadlines and initiating change.
A background in research methods would be desirable, but not required.
