About the Roles
Join our team as an Environmental Services Assistant (ESA) on a Full time or part time ongoing basis, to work at Dandenong Hospital based in Dandenong. Being part of the Support Services team, and reporting to General Services Manager, ESAs are responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe hospital environment, not only for patients, but also for visitors and colleagues across Monash Health. Directly supporting patient recovery and staff safety, ESAs deliver high‑quality environmental services across clinical and non‑clinical areas.
Key responsibilities (but not limited to)
* Delivering general and detailed cleaning of wards, offices, and public areas
* Always ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
* Adhering to safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with safety guidelines
* Managing waste removal and disposal procedures safely and responsibly
* Maintaining cleaning schedules and documentation
* Reporting maintenance or safety hazards promptly
* Collaborating with clinical and support teams to deliver service excellence
* Always ensuring patient privacy and dignity
* Complete relevant workplace training modules
* Distribution and collection of linen.

Position 1
General Cleaner – (HITH, Pharmacy, Allied Health & General Wards & Admin)
Day: Monday to Friday
Hours: 0700 to 1500
Total Hours per Fortnight: 75 hour
Position 2
Emergency Department and Weekend Mental Health Admin, MHA‑Offices
Days and Hours:
* Weeks – 1, 2, 3 & 4: Sunday to Wednesday ED – 0630 –1430.
* Weeks – 1 & 3: Saturday – 0730 – 1430.
Total Hours per Fortnight: 66.5 hours
Position 3
General Cleaner (Staff and waste areas)
Days and Hours:
* Week – 1 & 3: Saturday/Sunday 0700 -1530; Monday and Tuesday 0630 -1500
* Week – 2 & 4: Saturday/Sunday 0700 -1530; Monday to Wednesday
Total Hours per Fortnight: 72 hours
Position 4
General Cleaner (Staff & Waste areas)
Days and Hours:
* Week – 1 & 3: Wednesday to Sunday 0630 -1500
* Week – 2 & 4: Thursday/Friday 0630 -1500; Saturday/Sunday
Total Hours per Fortnight: 72 hours
Position 5
Theatre Cleaner
Days and Hours:
* Week – 1 & 3: Monday & Tuesday 1430 -2200
* Week – 2 & 4: Saturday to Wednesday
Total Hours per Fortnight: 49 hours
Position 6
Theatre Cleaner.
Days and Hours:
* Week – 1 & 3: Wednesday to Sunday 1430 -2200
* Week – 2 & 4: Thursday & Friday 1430- 2200
Total Hours per Fortnight: 49 hours
About You
To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in environmental services within a hospital or commercial cleaning setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills. Whether you're work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions.
