Business Development Manager – Healthcare Platform | $80K Base + $150-180K OTE | Remote (Australia)
Cold calling healthcare practitioners. Self-generating your own prospect lists every single day. No pre-warmed pipeline.
That's the grind.
Here's the payoff: $6,000–$10,000 per month in commissions for a rep who shows up and does the work.
You're replacing someone who proved this works. Now the seat's open.
The Company
Avaana runs a healthcare booking platform that connects NDIS practitioners with workplace injury claims through insurer partnerships. The model is simple: insurers send WorkCover claims to the platform, practitioners get matched with patients, everyone gets paid.
The company is contract‐dependent, which means revenue is predictable when partnerships are locked in. Right now, they've got a solid agreement with a New South Wales WorkCover insurer that's generating consistent deal flow.
You'll report directly to the founder. There's no middle management, no bureaucracy, no waiting three weeks for approval on a simple decision.
This is a proven system. You'll have access to successful call recordings, training material and the sales playbook.
Why This Role?
* $80,000 base + $150,000–$180,000 OTE (previous rep consistently earned $6K–$10K/month in commissions, hit $200K annually)
* Remote role across Australia
* Zero upfront cost for buyers
* Uncapped commission structure
* Fast hiring process
What You'll Actually Do
* Self-generate prospect lists of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, and exercise physiology clinics across NSW
* Cold call and email practitioners daily to onboard them to Avaana's platform
* Target 1–2 clinics per suburb based on hyper‐localised claims data
* Handle objections from non‐commercial buyers (psychologists, therapists, health practitioners who aren't always business‐savvy)
* Close deals with zero cost barrier – practitioners pay nothing upfront, only commission on bookings
* Spend 3–4 hours per day on the phone, 4–5 hours per day prospecting and managing email correspondence
* Track all activity and call recordings in the CRM
Who This Suits
You don't need healthcare sales experience. What matters is whether you can handle rejection, self-generate leads without hand‐holding, and grind through 200+ dials a week without losing your mind.
This role suits people who:
* Have a hunter mentality – you're comfortable starting each day without a pre‐built list of warm leads
* Can deal with non‐commercial buyers – health practitioners aren't always business‐savvy, and some have difficult personalities
* Thrive in phone‐heavy environments – this isn't a polished enterprise sale, it's volume‐based work
* Are self‐sufficient with tech
* Are motivated by uncapped commission – significant upside exists if you're willing to put in the effort
* Understand this is a volume game – you're not closing $500K deals, you're onboarding practitioners at scale
Some experience in high‐volume transactional sales (SMB SaaS, insurance, financial services) or outbound SDR/BDR roles helps.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most high‐commission sales roles come with a catch: the product doesn't sell, the market is saturated, or the comp plan is structured to screw you.
This isn't that.
The product works. Practitioners pay nothing upfront and only pay commission when they get bookings. The insurer partnership is locked in, which means consistent deal flow.
The previous rep proved this works. He consistently earned $6K–$10K per month.
You're walking into a proven system with training materials, call recordings, and a founder who knows how to support this role. If you show up, put in the effort, and handle rejection, you'll make money.
