Position Title Pricing Business Analyst / Product Owner
Employment Type: Contract (Project‐based initial 6-12 months) with intent to transition to a permanent role post‐implementation
Role Purpose
Accountable for maximising value from the Pricing Optimisation project by owning business requirements, prioritisation and benefits realisation, with end‐to‐end responsibility for pricing processes used by Pricing and the branch network.
Acts as the bridge between Pricing, Branch Operations, IT and delivery partners—translating pricing strategy into a delivery backlog, validating pricing data and outcomes, and ensuring the solution is adopted and operationally sustainable.
Intended to transition into an ongoing Pricing Product Owner position following delivery and stabilisation.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead discovery with Pricing, Finance, Branch Operations and IT; translate needs into clear user stories, business rules and acceptance criteria aligned to SAP pricing capabilities and integrations.
* Define pricing data requirements and quality standards; partner with data/engineering to profile, validate and prepare pricing, cost, customer and product data.
* Validate pricing logic and outcomes (including exceptions/edge cases); ensure outputs are traceable and explainable to the business.
* Own business UAT (scenarios, expected outcomes) and coordinate defect triage with delivery partners, focusing on SAP pricing behaviour.
* Support go‐live readiness and adoption (processes, controls, reporting, access) with Change/Training; establish BAU product operating model and measures for post‐implementation optimisation.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
· 7+ years' experience as a Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst and/or Analyst (data/insights).
· Delivery experience with data enabled products/platforms in complex, cross functional environments.
· Strong discovery and requirements leadership (workshops, process mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria).
· Hands‐on data analysis to support pricing validation, business decisions and UAT.
· Practical experience with SAP pricing processes (as a pricing user, BA validating pricing logic/integrations, or functional/technical support).
· Experience working with enterprise systems and vendor delivered solutions.
· Pricing, revenue management, margin management, or trade pricing.
· SAP pricing concepts (e.g., condition records/pricing procedures, customer/volume pricing, governance and exceptions).
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, Data/Analytics, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Tools & Technical Skills
· Advanced Excel for analysis and validation.
· Experience analysing pricing/transactional data.
· Working understanding of SAP pricing data/outputs to validate outcomes and support UAT/defect triage.
· Strong commercial and analytical mindset
· Confident facilitator able to lead conversations and drive decisions.
· Comfortable operating between strategic intent and detailed execution.
· Collaborative, pragmatic, and effective across business and technology teams.
