Our client is looking for a motivated mine engineer with experience in an open cut environment who is motivated to make a lasting impact on a large scale open cut coal operation.
There are two exciting opportunities available as either a short term or mid term mine planning engineer where you will collaborate with the rest of the team to do plans and designs to maximise production. The site offers a long project life, supportive team culture and excellent career progression through the company.
This role is a DIDO position from Mackay on an 8/6 roster.
Your new role:
* Provide leadership in the undertaking of short term or mid term mine planning activities including mine designs and schedules to meet contract requirements.
* Build positive working relationships, coordinating with operations teams to develop plans, schedules and designs.
* Provide and deliver plans to operational personnel and monitoring progress against plan.
* Continuous improvement initiatives and technical advice.
* Track operation KPIs and commercial progress.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Must have relevant experience on an Australian open cut mine site.
* Must have open cut coal experience.
* Bachelor of Engineering (Mining or Civil)
* Strong working knowledge of Spry/Vulcan or equivalent software packages is highly desirable.
* Current Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain).
* Current Queensland driver licence.
