About the role
Complete Alignments is seeking an experienced Automotive Underbody Specialist to join our team in Regency Park, SA 5010. This full-time role is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician to apply their expertise in underbody automotive repair. Opportunities are available to work with both heavy and light vehicles. The role is at our workshop in Regency Park only, no call out jobs or after hours breakdown service requirements.
Duties include but are not limited to
* Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues across suspension, steering, driveline, brake systems, and wheel alignment using manual inspections and diagnostic equipment.
* Perform repairs, adjustments, and replacements of worn or damaged components in suspension, steering, driveline, and brake systems to ensure safe and reliable vehicle operation.
* Conduct routine vehicle servicing, including brake inspections, steering checks, suspension assessments, and alignment evaluations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
* Carry out precise wheel alignments using specialised alignment equipment, ensuring optimal handling, tyre wear, and performance.
* Inspect underbody components to identify faults or safety concerns, and advise on required maintenance or corrective work.
* Test and verify vehicle handling, braking, and driveline performance after servicing or adjustments to confirm safety and reliability.
* Assess vehicle roadworthiness in relevant areas, providing guidance on compliance requirements and recommended repairs.
* Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, adjustments, parts used, and service outcomes.
* Communicate effectively with customers to explain findings, recommend solutions, and provide professional technical advice.
* Collaborate with the workshop team to maintain high service standards, efficiency, and a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory)
Other Skills and Requirements
* Minimum 1 year experience as a Motor Mechanic or relevant to the role
* Proven expertise in underbody vehicle diagnosis, repair and maintenance
* Strong technical knowledge of suspension, steering, and driveline systems
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Strong communication and customer service orientation
* Commitment to workplace health and safety
