Your role
Maintaining a clean marina, boatyard and trailer boat parking area. Assist with the operation of Boatyard Hardstand and the launch and retrieval of trailer boats.
Where you'll make an impact
* Assist in carrying out general cleaning and tidiness of all Marina, Boatyard, Trailer Park and Chandlery areas
* Assist Marina office staff with daily operations and all tasks associated with the running of the Marina, Boatyard, Trailer Park and chandlery including refilling gas bottles and emptying old oil
* Ensure all boats and jet skis are launched and retrieved in a safe and proper manner using a tractor and 4WD
* Assist Maintenance department in carrying out general repairs and maintenance to all boatyard and marine areas
* Maintain effective channels of communications, attend departmental briefings and meetings, ensuring all relevant information is passed on between the appropriate parties
* Ensure cleanliness and safe handling procedures are kept for all Hamilton Marina Boatyard equipment
* Ensure uniform, presentation, hygiene and workplace health and safety practices are in accordance with the Hamilton Island's policies and procedures and the Workplace Health and Safety Act
* Operation of Boatyard Heavy Lifting equipment and vessels as assigned
* Emergency work associated with the safety of staff and guests and cleanliness of the island as required
* Carry out additional tasks in line with the job role as required by the Marina Manager
What we're looking for
Given a display of commitment and reliability, you'll have the opportunity to be trained and certified in boat lifting operations, stepping into a higher-skill, higher-responsibility role over time.
To be successful, you will need
* Manual drivers licence (Essential)
* Forklift license (Essential)Able to reverse a trailer and use a vehicle in 4WD (Essential)
* Personal watercraft license (Desirable)
* First Aid and CPR (Desirable)
