About the role
AGL's Environment Operations team have a critical and newly created role for Principal Cultural Heritage and Native Title.
With flexibility to be based in Vic, SA or NSW, you'll oversee cultural heritage governance and Native Title management across AGL's portfolio.
You'll ensure compliance with native title and cultural heritage requirements while working collaboratively with First Nations communities and regulators.
This role is central to delivering AGL's commitment of 12GW of new renewable generation and firming capacity by **** in a compliant and responsible way.
What you'll do:
Lead and deliver the implementation of AGL's Cultural Heritage Standard across the entire generation portfolio
Negotiate Native Title agreements and develop Cultural Heritage Management Plans
Build and maintain relationships with First Nations Communities and representatives
Provide expert advice to senior management on Native Title and Cultural Heritage matters and facilitate learning across operational teams
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Develop collaborative relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring a proactive approach to compliance
What you'll bring:
Tertiary qualification in archaeology, anthropology or similar
Proven experience working with First Nations representatives and Registered Aboriginal Parties
Experience with, and knowledge of cultural heritage legislation across Australia
Ability to communicate and negotiate within complex environments
Experience with energy generation, power development and construction
