Job Description
The role of a research technician is to support projects tackling Australia's most damaging mammalian pests. Working across field sites and biosecure facilities, you will contribute to research in applied ecology and genetics—helping develop smarter, more effective pest control strategies.
This requires flexibility and stamina for extended field trips, sometimes up to two weeks, in remote areas.
* Perform routine care and husbandry of animals in biosecure research facilities.
* Work as part of a team to undertake field work and captive animal studies to collect data on rodents and rabbits.
* Design data recording systems and maintain research datasets.
* Conduct literature reviews, investigations, and inspections in the field or laboratory, including associated analysis.
* Maintain laboratory or fieldwork consumables and coordinate shared lab resources and training.
