The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role
This position is responsible for providing additional support to Case Managers and the team in delivering a targeted holistic support service aimed at enhancing outcomes for children, young people and their families.
About You
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
- Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
- Experience and or ability to work with Aboriginal children and families in a culturally respectful and competent manner.
- Ability to engage vulnerable children, young people, their families and their Carers in outreach work activities.
- Good understanding of the OOHC service system
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications, such as a certificate in community services (or working towards).
- Valid Police Check, aWorking with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and aVictorian Driver Licence.Current COVID-19 vaccination(Strongly Recommended)
