How you'll make an impact
We are seeking a Systems Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organisation's technical infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimisation of our systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest infrastructure technologies.
On a day to day basis you will:
1. Design, implemention and support of a broad range of core infrastructure technologies such as SAN, server hardware, VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft server operating systems, SQL database systems, and Active Directory
2. Ensurepliance with security policies and procedures, including access controls and data protection measures
3. Responsibility for the establishment of effective monitoring and alerting across the infrastructure platform
4. Responsibility for ensuring all infrastructure systems are incorporated into the relevant backup and disaster recovery frameworks
5. Involvement in the deployment of applications and patches across both the Windows & Linux operating system platforms
6. Participation in transition to support activities for key projects to ensure the successful ongoing operational support of all new systems
7. Collection and review of system data for capacity and planning purposes
8. Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current and relevant.
9. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies outside of regular business hours, if required
About you
We are interested in hearing from people who have:
10. Bachelor's degree inputer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
11. Certification's in Windows Server, Redhat Linux, Active Directory, VMware, Citrix and Microsoft are highly desirable
12. Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role
13. Strong knowledge of system design principles, including hardware, software, and networkponents
14. Experience with systems and equipment from leading vendors, such as VMware, Citrix, HPE and Microsoft
15. Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
16. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
17. Strongmunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
18. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
