We're looking for a hands-on Senior AI Product Engineer to join FromHereOn - someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building backend systems, and wants to shape how AI-powered products are designed, deployed, and scaled.
About the Role
We're building AI agents that work in the real world — combining structured data, document search, and intelligent actions to help consultants answer complex questions quickly and reliably.
As a Senior AI Product Engineer, you'll focus on the backend and platform that powers this system. You'll design and build the services, APIs, and orchestration logic that enable AI agents to retrieve data, execute actions, and operate reliably at scale in Azure.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building distributed systems, working with modern cloud platforms, and solving practical problems where AI meets engineering. You'll be hands‐on, shipping quickly, and iterating on a system that is actively used and continuously evolving.
What You'll Be Doing
* Collaborating closely with product and design to turn ideas into working solutions
* Designing and building backend services and APIs that power AI agents and workflows
* Developing and maintaining the platform layer in Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
* Using Replit, Claude, and modern cloud tooling to prototype and ship updates rapidly
* Implementing and improving search, retrieval, and data access across structured and unstructured sources
* Building orchestration logic that governs how AI agents use tools and interact with data
* Managing deployments end-to-end across dev, test, and production environments
* Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues in production
* Improving data flows, consistency, and overall platform quality
* Running security scans and contributing to DevSecOps practices (including SAST/DAST)
* Troubleshooting AI behaviour, including concepts like memory and tools such as LangChain and LangGraph
* Contributing to product and design decisions, working closely with the Director of AI & Data
Your Skills & Experience
* At least 7 years of experience in software engineering or building production‐grade digital products, with strong practical experience delivering working solutions.
* Rapid prototyping using Replit or modern AI‐assisted IDEs.
* Experience taking prototypes to production on Azure.
* Ability to build simple, intuitive user experiences that meet the JTBD.
* Understanding of agentic AI systems: context engineering, input window management, and AI memory.
* Experience with state machines or graph‐based logic to guide AI behaviour.
* Ability to orchestrate interactions between multiple AI agents and users.
* Strong iteration mindset—quickly refining features based on feedback.
* Interest in influencing product direction, not just implementation.
* Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, state machines, Azure, and Unix/Bash.
* Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including release pipelines, basic Unix tooling, and security scans (SAST/DAST).
* Comfortable working in fast‐paced, ambiguous environments where you build, test, refine, and repeat.
