Join the Department of Housing and Public works in the Financial Reporting, Governance and Tax team as an AO4 Finance Officer This permanent role offers the opportunity to provide expert advice and support on statutory reporting, taxation, and financial processes at a whole-of-agency level.
As an AO4 Finance Officer, you will be responsible for providing advice and support at a whole of agency consolidated level to the various program and business areas on the agency's statutory reporting requirements including taxation, processes and obligations
Key duties and responsibilities include:
• Utilise the SAP financial management system to process financial transactions, including journal entries, and generate reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation and review of departmental reconciliations, including identifying and resolving reporting discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain registers and reporting activities to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and accounting standards.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial processes, including accruals, adjustments, and submissions to Queensland Treasury.
• Respond to stakeholder queries and provide financial administrative support, including advice on policies and procedures.
• Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities for efficiency and standardisation.
• Provide support for asset accounting, including maintaining asset registers and assisting with the annual stocktake process.
• Provide support for compliance reporting, including gifts and benefits, consultants, special payments, and material loss reporting.
• Participate in team meetings, internal projects, and initiatives to support innovation and process improvements
• Assist with financial data analysis, ad-hoc reporting, and compliance reporting tasks
