The Cheesecake Shop Cairns is seeking a passionate and skilled Cake Decorator to join our team full-time. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your creativity to life, working with a variety of cakes and icings to create high-quality, visually stunning products that reflect our store's standard.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for decorating a range of cakes including custom celebration cakes, tortes, and mud cakes using buttercream, chocolate truffle, and ganache. The role requires a keen eye for detail, a creative approach, and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality work under time constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Decorate cakes to customer specifications using a variety of techniques and finishes.
* Complete custom orders to a high visual and taste standard.
* Contribute to daily decorating of display cakes and promotional items.
* Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organised work area.
* Meet daily production targets while ensuring consistency and quality.
* Work collaboratively with the broader production and front-of-house team.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in cake decorating is highly regarded, but formal qualifications are not essential.
* Confidence working with buttercream, ganache, chocolate truffle, and similar products.
* Ability to follow design briefs and also contribute creatively to designs.
* High attention to detail, with a strong sense of presentation and finish.
* Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
