Kitchen Officer
Location: Hobart
Contract length: 1+ months
Hourly rate: $45 per hour + super
15 hours per week - Wednesday to Friday 9am - 2pm
About the Role
- Coordinate daily kitchen operations and food service for the community program.
- Supervise and roster volunteer kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team workplace.
- Plan menus collaboratively with volunteers and manage food orders efficiently.
- Maintain kitchen stock and equipment, ensuring everything is accounted for and in good working order.
- Ensure strict food safety and WHS compliance is maintained at all times.
- Support catering for events and programs as required.
Essential Competencies & Certifications
To be considered for this role, you must hold and provide evidence of the following:
- An appropriate Certificate level qualification
- Practical experience in kitchen management, OR an appropriate Certificate level qualification and practical experience in the community sector.
- Experience working with and supporting older people in a community setting.
- Skilled in coordinating volunteers and managing all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and basic admin/computer skills.
- Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
- Valid Driver Licence.
