We are a small, busy business looking for a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, staying organised, and keeping things running smoothly without needing close supervision.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience to be considered for this position.
About the Role
This position offers flexible hours, Monday to Friday, making it ideal for someone seeking work-life balance. You will work closely with the business owner and play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the business.
This part-time role requires 20-25 hours per week commitment.
You will be the only person in the office for most of the time, so it's essential that you are confident working independently, able to prioritise tasks, and take initiative without direction.
Key Responsibilities
* Accounts payable and receivable
* Invoicing and general bookkeeping tasks
* Payroll and HR duties
* Use of MYOB (essential)
* Data entry for compliance and audit purposes
* Maintaining accurate records and filing systems
* Answering phone calls and handling enquiries
* Updating daily logs and internal systems
* General office cleaning (weekly)
* Assisting the business owner with administrative tasks
* Managing scheduling when the owner is away
* Ad hoc duties as required
* Maintain documentation related to Mass Maintenance requirements
* Ensure all compliance records are complete, accurate and audit-ready
* Monitor deadlines, record keeping, and operational compliance processes
About You
- Proven experience with MYOB
- Strong bookkeeping and administrative skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Competent in data entry and filing systems
- Reliable and takes pride in getting things done properly
- Proactive and able to identify what needs to be done without being asked
- Comfortable working autonomously and managing your own workload
- Well organised and able to juggle multiple priorities
- Confident communicator with a professional phone manner
