A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. About the RoleAre you a Registered Midwife looking to advance your career? Gippsland Southern Health Service are currently recruiting for an Associate Midwifery Unit Manager to assist the Midwifery Unit Manager with the daily running of the Maternity Unit. If you are a dynamic leader and want to work in a great team environment, this is the role for you. Share your midwifery knowledge to our future midwives while receiving mentoring with management tasks.
The successful applicant must be prepared to relieve the Midwifery Unit Manager if required, undertake delegated portfolio work, work all shifts and will have completed or be prepared to undertake Advanced Life Support/Neonatal life support competencies. The Maternity unit has 1 birthing suite and three birth and stay rooms, facilitating births per year and enjoys a wonderful reputation for providing the best birthing experience for women in our community.
The successful applicant will possess the following:
* Tertiary Qualifications as a Registered Nurse/Midwife
* Registered Midwife and or Urgent Care experience would be advantageous.
* Current registration with NMBA/AHPRA.
* Current Level 3 FSEP/Neonatal resuscitation.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Organisational and problem solving skills.
* Time management and decision making skills.
* Evidence of ongoing self-development.
* Prepared to work rotating day/night/weekend shifts.
* Ability to work in a busy ward environment.
Staff have access to supportive staff mentoring, education and development programs. Salary Packaging is available for all staff. The successful applicant will be required to provide a current satisfactory police check.
