*The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Educator (Acute Geriatric and Dementia Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Utilise expert educational knowledge to lead the development, review and maintenance of education tools and resources.
Lead the development, implementation, and review of pathways within the organisation to support orientation, onboarding and clinical progression of novices and experienced staff.
Work collaboratively with other Nurse Educators, Nurse Unit Mangers, Clinical Facilitators and the multidisciplinary teams.
Provide expert guidance in collaboration with senior nursing leadership.
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable.
Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
Effective computer skills to use clinical information systems and other applications relevant to role.
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

The Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Unit (NMERU) drives the development of an appropriately skilled nursing and midwifery workforce to deliver evidence-based, person-focused care to our community. The unit is led by the Director of Nursing NMERU, and sits within the Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Experience.
