We are looking for an experienced Otolaryngologist who is a transformational leader; providing clinical expertise to deliver quality care.
The hospital is located in a small city of 50,000 people located in the first place to see the light in the world. The area is rich in natural beauty, surrounded by world class surf breaks and enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The 100 bed hospital is staffed with senior and junior doctors and does the basics well. More complex, critically ill patients are cared for at a tertiary centre.
The successful candidate will be part of a team of three Otolaryngologists who are working collaboratively to provide high quality care and to improve equity and health outcomes for the Māori and Pasifika populations. The team is supported by a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Audiologist.
There are ample opportunities to develop subspecialist interests, that will complement the departments current service, with high levels of community unmet need. We enjoy good collegial relationships with other departments, allied medical health professionals and close links with tertiary services. The department is well equipped for all aspects of modern ENT health care.

This small 110-bed acute care hospital serves the East Coast population, approx. 47,000.
You will enjoy working in a supportive, team environment with highly qualified SMO’s and House Officer’s, and have oversight of medical admissions and management (unselected medical take), giving you exposure to a wide range of medical presentations and procedures, along with many educational opportunities. The medical department is supported locally by comprehensive surgical services, along with up-to-date diagnostic facilities including a new MRI scanner and CT scanner.
