Join ROBAR Group – Skilled Civil Infrastructure Workers Wanted (Rockhampton Ring Road Project) ROBAR Group is delivering major civil infrastructure works across Australia, backed by extensive experience in major bridge construction and complex FRP delivery. We are now recruiting for a significant 20‑month scope of works on the Rockhampton Ring Road, including the construction of five bridges.
This is a strong opportunity to secure long-term work on a landmark Queensland project.
We are currently seeking experienced FRP (Form, Reinforce, Pour) crew members for ongoing work on the Rockhampton Ring Road project, which includes the construction of five major bridges. All roles below are directly tied to bridge building and heavy FRP delivery.
* Steelfixers — responsible for installing reinforcement for bridge abutments, headstocks, piers, crossheads, and deck slabs. This includes tying large reinforcement cages, working with complex bar arrangements, reading detailed steel schedules, and ensuring correct placement for high‑spec structural elements.
* Formworkers — responsible for constructing and stripping formwork for all bridge components, including pier stems, headstocks, abutments, barriers, and deck formwork systems. Candidates should be confident working with both traditional and modular systems, setting out to tight tolerances, and preparing formwork for large structural pours.
* Concreters — responsible for placing, vibrating, screeding, and finishing concrete for structural bridge pours. This includes working on piers, headstocks, deck pours, and precast installations. Experience with high‑strength mixes, staged pours, and achieving quality finishes on critical structural elements is highly regarded.
* Telehandler Operators — responsible for supporting FRP crews by safely transporting reinforcement, formwork materials, precast components, and construction equipment around the bridge sites. Operators must be confident working in tight areas around active bridge builds and assisting with lift preparation and material logistics.
* Dogmen & Riggers — responsible for supporting crane operations during the lifting of reinforcement cages, formwork shutters, precast elements, and other heavy bridge components. Candidates must be experienced in complex lifts, working around bridge structures, and maintaining strict safety controls during all lifting activities.
* Labourers — responsible for assisting FRP crews with material handling, site preparation, cleaning formwork, supporting concrete pours, and general labouring tasks directly related to bridge construction. Experience working on bridge decks, piers, or heavy civil structures is highly beneficial.
Bridge construction experience is highly beneficial across all roles.
We are looking for personnel who:
* Prioritise safety, quality, and teamwork
* Have proven experience in civil infrastructure, ideally within FRP or bridge scopes
* Can work independently and contribute to a productive crew
* Are physically fit, reliable, and committed to long-term project work

* For concreters: proven skills in set-out, screeding, and finishing
