UQ Art Museum Part-time, permanent position Base salary will be in the range $80,523.29 - $89,505.38 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5) Based at our St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity We are seeking an organised, collaborative, and creative person to join UQ Art Museum's Engagement team in the role of Engagement Producer. In this role you will support our visitor engagement initiatives by coordinating front of house activities and training and delivering events for a range of audiences. This is a role that requires empathy, creativity, and a genuine interest in connecting visitors with museums and the arts. Our innovative cultural mediation program is unique in the sector, and is a visitor engagement practice we continue to grow and develop. We have an industry-leading career pathways program and you will work closely with students who are developing their skills in museums, galleries, and arts management. We value partnership and you will connect with a range of colleagues and communities from within UQ, across the sector, and beyond to facilitate audience engagement. This role reports to the Engagement and Partnerships Manager and works closely with the Engagement Assistant. Key responsibilities will include: Ensure appropriate front of house and back of house arrangements are in place for visitor engagement, including ensuring front of house areas are well maintained, liaising with back of house staff to share and discuss any relevant issues, and supervising the team of casual front of house staff. Ensure appropriate arrangements are in place for events and venue hire, including rostering staff, arranging catering and AV technicians, and working with suppliers and clients to coordinate venue requirements. Assist in the planning and delivery of the Art Museum’s training workshops, including rostering staff, liaising with partners and suppliers to implement workshop requirements, and developing informational material and other collateral for visitor engagement training programs. With guidance from the Engagement and Partnerships Manager, recruit and train new front of house staff. Collaborate with the Engagement and Partnerships Manager and other University stakeholders on external facing events, and other shared responsibilities. Provide administrative and operational support for the Engagement and Partnerships Manager with donor and community engagement activities and events as required. Attend functions outside normal business hours and off-campus as required. Demonstrated experience in supervising a team, including rostering and training. Demonstrated experience in managing events. Well-developed interpersonal and client service skills, including the ability to communicate and liaise effectively with diverse individuals such as senior staff of the University, external stakeholders, and current students. Proven ability to work independently and deal effectively with a diverse range of tasks with competing priorities in a busy environment. A high level of computer literacy, a keen eye for design and detail, and the ability to use a range of software including the Adobe Creative Suite.
