Join to apply for the Dental Assistant - Melbourne role at HCF Australia3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Dental Assistant - Melbourne role at HCF AustraliaProvide clinical assistance to the dentist and maintain an efficient and comfortable environment for the patient and our membersComply with HCF Dental Quality Management System and HCF policies and proceduresMaintain a clean and safe clinical environmentSupport the Practice Manager and Dentist in Charge, in actively fostering teamwork and efficient running of the dental centreJob ResponsibilitiesPatient flowMonitor patient day sheet to prepare for patient list as planned and accommodate emergency patients whenever possibleCoordinate with dentist to call patient, escort to and from surgery, settling patient in chair, preparing patient for dentistLiaise with reception regarding next appointments and/or payments.Chair side assistingCorrect instrument and material set up for each patientAssist Dentist with all aspects of clinical dentistryCorrect procedure and technique in instrument transfer and mixing of materialsD4W data entry under dentist instructionDevelop radiographs.Surgery organisationMaintain infection control measures according to Infection Prevention manualComply with surgery change over procedure for every patientGeneral cleaning and maintenance of surgeryRemove contaminated and non-contaminated wasteUndertake routine maintenance of equipment and stockAssist other Dental Assistants, in SSU or other areas of the dental centre as requiredSterile supply unitClean and prepare surgery hand pieces for sterilisationProcess contaminated instruments, hand pieces and auxiliary itemsPrepare and maintain ultrasonic cleaner and steriliserValidate of sterilisation cyclesMaintain stock levelsRegular surgery rounds to collect contaminated instrumentsReport any fraudulent behaviour or activityEssentialCandidate RequirementsDental knowledge and experienceNeat appearance and good personal hygieneAbility to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, tact and diplomacyDemonstrated initiative and common senseBasic computer skillsDesirableExperience in reception duties or interest to be cross trained in this areaQualifications in radiography, sterilising and/or first aidCertificate III in dental assistingAbout HCFAt HCF, our purpose is to bring our human touch to healthcare.
