Job Description
PSC Creative College is seeking a Sessional Lecturer in Post-Production & Film Editing to support delivery of Screen Media subjects in Trimester 2.
We are looking for a skilled post‐production professional with strong expertise in film editing and a passion for mentoring emerging creatives. You'll support students in developing editing workflows and post‐production techniques, while working alongside a collaborative team of experienced educators and industry practitioners.
This role combines live student support with subject preparation, development, and teaching‐related duties.
* Teaching commences: 1 June 2026
* End date: 2 September 2026
* Hours: Approximately 6 hours per week
* 2 hours live drop‐in teaching
* 4 hours preparation, marking, administration, and content development
o On‐campus requirement: Attendance on campus once per week (to be discussed at interview)
What You'll Be Doing
* Facilitating a weekly live drop‐in session to support student learning
* Supporting students in post‐production workflows, primarily using Adobe Premiere Pro, with After Effects where relevant
* Providing constructive and timely feedback on student editing and post‐production work
* Assisting in refining course materials and assessment tasks
* Completing marking and subject administration within required timeframes
* Collaborating with course leaders and fellow team members as required
* Creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
About You
You're a hands‐on post‐production professional and educator who enjoys mentoring others and bringing real‐world editing experience into the learning environment.
Qualifications / Experience:
* Bachelor or Degree in Creative Industries, Screen Media, Film, or related field
* Demonstrated expertise in post‐production and film editing
* Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
* Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects (highly desirable)
* Experience in teaching, mentoring, or training
* Industry experience in film, television, media production, or content creation
Highly Desirable:
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
* Ability to manage preparation, marking, and administration effectively
* A student‐centred approach and passion for supporting emerging creatives
