About the Role
We are seeking a Field Service Supervisor – Mackay to join our Services team. This role will be responsible for the execution and supervision of the Field Service team at customer sites, focusing on safety, customer service, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise hands-on, mechanical service work at customer sites.
2. Oversee the installation and commissioning of systems, machinery, and associated spare parts and wear material components.
3. Provide technical field service site support.
4. Promote products and services to customers.
5. Promote the sales of OEM spare parts and wears material components.
6. Support field service technicians and carry out hands-on mechanical service work within the customer site or repair facilities if required.
7. Support Technical Support Teams on complex issues.
8. Ensure timely submission of site reports, time sheets, and travel expense reports after each job.
9. Contribute to quotation work by providing scope of work, initial planning, and pricing information.
10. Support warranty process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where applicable.
11. Assist the Field Service Coordinator with allocating work to team members.
12. Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure team adherence to Metso & customer HSE requirements.
13. Maintain quality standards in accordance with Metso processes, instructions, and training.
Requirements
1. 5 years minimum experience in industrial equipment, technical support, and service.
2. Relevant Trade certificate.
3. At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
4. Experience in troubleshooting technical-field-related problems.
5. Leadership skills to effectively manage and supervise customer/user personnel under various working conditions and hours.
6. Technical expertise to interact with Field Sales, Training, Application & Technical Support groups as well as Parts, Support & Engineering groups.
7. Ability to maintain a steady attitude under pressure.
8. Hydraulic schematic reading capability.
9. Problem-solving skills.
10. Pass random medical and drug tests, and be physically fit.
11. Willingness to travel on short notice.
12. Ability to work away from home for extended periods and extended hours.
