We are now seeking to employ a highly experienced Forklift Operator to join the KTrans team at our Welshpool Transport Operational Depot.
The role:
This position is not entry-level — we are looking for an operator with a proven track record in the transport industry, specifically in loading and unloading high volumes of general freight onto linehaul trailers in a busy depot environment. Much of the freight is mine-site bound and often over-dimensional, irregular, or heavy, requiring a high level of forklift operating skill, judgement, and safety awareness.
As our Forklift Operator, your primary responsibilities will include receiving, sorting, consolidating/manifesting, and loading/unloading general freight and containerised import/export cargo safely, in accordance with KTrans documented procedures and standards.

You will be accountable for:
* Ensuring cargo is received in an orderly manner and to customers packaging guidelines
* Completion of accurate and timely documentation via our TMS (Bustle, Freight Tracker) systems in accordance with KTrans freight preparation procedures
* Ensuring packaging requirements are noted and complied with, eg - fragile goods, dangerous goods, insufficient packaging
* Correct use of all consumable items so freight is fit for travel, eg - labels, consignments, cargo wrapping
* Loading freight onto assets diligently so freight is suitable to travel, secure and safe in accordance with Load Restraint Guide, and therefore loaded to highest standard for linehaul transport
The Requirements:
* Current Forklift Licence and Load Restraint Awareness. National Load Restraint ticket preferred.
* Valid Driver's Licence
* Proven experience operating a forklift in a busy transport depot
* Demonstrated ability to load and unload trailers efficiently and safely
* An ability to measure cargo accurately with high level and attention to detail
* Develop and maintain a high level of cargo care which results in excellent customer service skills
* Clear and legible handwriting and documentation skills
* Sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Principles and commitment to safe work practices
