The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Resident Diesel Mechanic to join our Field Service team based in Northern Tasmania (Devonport / Burnie). Reporting to the Service Manager in Launceston, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services to our customers' equipment.
You Will Also Be Responsible For
* Autonomously work from your home in Northern Tasmania.
* Providing onsite technical support on Hitachi equipment including diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
* Conduct basic failure analysis and identify specific modes of failure.
* Providing exceptional customer service to our customers.
* Ensure your work sites are kept tidy and all paperwork is up to date.
* Conducting your work in compliance with all quality and safety standards and procedures.
To Be Successful In This Role
* Minimum Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or an equivalent discipline (Diesel Mechanic).
* Commercial Vehicle trades will also be considered.
* Previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair, and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment.
* Ability to work autonomously and proactively solve technical issues.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, and customer service etiquette.
