To carry out a range of operational production tasks across multiple areas, depending on training, skills, and operational needs, to achieve workflow and production goals. This includes, but is not limited to:
* Operating digital and offset print presses, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control
* Operating cutting machines and managing finishing processes
* Overseeing packing and other operational activities within the VSU
What You Will Do
* Serve as 2IC to the VSU Supervisor or First Operator in the VSU, providing operational leadership when required.
* Set up and operate digital presses, and finishing equipment.
* Apply thorough knowledge of enterprise processes and procedures relevant to the role.
* Strong understanding of scheduling practices and scheduling rules.
* Working knowledge of software systems for managing production, including reprinting products with quality issues, placing items on hold, and clearing print jobs.
* Operate computer-controlled systems in line with accredited skills and training.
* Carry out routine and preventative maintenance within scope of training.
* Promote and implement OH&S and environmental protection practices in daily operations.
* Coordinate workflow and support teamwork within the production area.
* Identify and address quality variations in products, processes, or materials, making necessary adjustments to maintain production standards.
* Assist supervisors and trainers in delivering training to team members.
* Allocate tasks to team members to meet production schedules, taking responsibility for the quality and timeliness of their output.
Your Qualifications
* At least 10 years of work experience in the Printing industry.
* Experience with Print & Finishing machines
* Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision
* Self-starter with the willingness to learn and grow in the role
* Energetic and highly motivated
