The Client Bundoora Mechanix is an automotive service and repair workshop based in Bundoora, VIC, specialising in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and routine servicing. They are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join their team in Bundoora, VIC. The Role The Motor Mechanic is responsible for delivering diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services across a range of vehicles, ensuring all work meets technical specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements. This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $76,700 to $79,000 plus superannuation. The Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical procedures Inspect vehicles and assess system performance across engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking systems Perform servicing and maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake servicing, and system adjustments Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engine components, transmissions, and associated mechanical systems Replace defective parts and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and repair standards Conduct testing and verification of repairs to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance Interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and repair guides to support accurate diagnostics and repairs Maintain records of servicing, repairs, and parts usage in line with workshop and compliance requirements Identify additional faults or service requirements and communicate findings to supervisors or customers Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace safety procedures and automotive standards Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and operational condition Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs The Requirements: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification AQF Certificate III & IV in a related Motor Mechanic field At least 2 years of motor mechanical experience in a commercial workshop setting At least 2 years' experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults across vehicle systems Minimum 2 years' experience performing servicing, maintenance, and repair of engines, transmissions, and braking systems Must have at least 2 years experience working with Intercontinental, Asian and European car vehicles Must have at least 2 years motor mechanical experience with diesels, AWDs, 4WDs, Ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and repair documentation Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently Good understanding of workplace safety procedures and automotive compliance standards Ability to work independently and manage workload in a workshop environment Good communication skills and ability to liaise with team members and customers Valid Driver's Licence
