About the role
BME NQ' is seeking an experienced Aluminium Fabricator to join our team in Townsville, Queensland. As a full-time Aluminium Fabricator, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing of 4x4 Canopies and trays and assembly of high-quality aluminium products in the marine world for our diverse range of clients.
What you'll be doing
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to fabricate custom aluminium components and assemblies
* Operate various fabrication equipment such as saws, drills, grinders, and welding machines to shape, cut, and join aluminium parts
* Perform quality checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure product meets or exceeds customer requirements
* Collaborate with the production team to optimise workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
What we're looking for
* Have a happy can-do attitude.
* Proven experience as an Aluminium Fabricator or a similar role in the trades and services industry
* Minimum 3-5 years of aluminium fabrication experience is required.
* Excellent practical knowledge of aluminium fabrication techniques, including welding, cutting, and bending
* MIG and Tig welding certification is required
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Proficient in the use of fabrication tools and equipment
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
* A valid driver's licence and the ability to work in a full-time capacity
* Australian citizenship only is required for this position
