Our client is seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead the end-to-end development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia.
You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, managing project risks, and coordinating stakeholders to successfully deliver high-quality renewable energy assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS) from origination through to financial close and construction readiness.
* Identify and assess new project opportunities, including site identification, land agreements, and grid connection feasibility.
* Manage the planning and approvals process, including environmental assessments, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.
* Coordinate grid connection applications and work closely with network service providers and relevant authorities.
* Oversee technical studies, including feasibility, design development, and yield assessments.
* Lead commercial negotiations, including landholder agreements, offtake discussions, and key project contracts.
* Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
* Work closely with internal teams across engineering, construction, and finance to ensure successful project delivery.
* Support investment decisions through preparation of business cases and development reports.
Requirements
* Proven experience developing utility-scale renewable energy projects in Australia
* Demonstrated track record of taking projects through key development milestones
* Strong understanding of the Australian energy market, planning frameworks, and grid connection processes.
* Experience managing multiple stakeholders including landowners, councils, consultants, and network providers.
* Commercial acumen with experience in project financials, contracts, and risk management.
