Informatech is currently supporting a strategic and long-term ICT program for the Royal Australian Navy, delivering critical infrastructure and cyber capability across a complex and secure environment. To help drive this nationally significant Defence initiative forward, we're seeking experienced Installation Project Managers. These roles can be considered on a permanent or contract basis, based in Canberra, Sydney, or Perth .
Responsibilities
1. Accountable for end-to-end installation management of systems onto Royal Australian Navy ships and shore-based locations.
2. Understand engineering change processes involving system integration aboard Navy platforms.
3. React, adapt, and modify plans in response to changing circumstances during installation programs.
4. Drive the installation plan, change, and release processes, aiming to improve the end-user experience.
5. Develop schedules for the build and installation of systems onboard Navy platforms.
6. Ensure the efficiency of the installation program, identifying and implementing activities to improve quality in support of the FIE.
7. Engage with project teams, Navy personnel, In Service Support Contractors (ISSC), Systems Program Offices (SPO), and support elements during installations.
8. Chair Platform Integration Working Groups and draft associated minutes.
9. Manage installation activities across all platforms.
10. Develop, contribute, or review installation components of plans and schedules, including schedules and communication artifacts, transport and logistics plans, and risk management plans.
11. Provide reports to leadership during installations.
12. Participate and contribute to delivery team meetings and other reviews.
13. Coordinate and liaise with relevant Defence parties and functions.
Minimum Requirements
* Installation and IT Project Management experience supporting Defence deployed platforms (ECCPB, OPV, LHD, LSD, AOR, FFH, CCSM, DDG classes).
* Previous Navy experience on installation and transition programs.
* Experience working with SPOs and familiarity with capability delivery processes to Navy.
* Minimum 10 years' experience in the Defence environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
* Attention to detail and ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
* Discipline to work independently and within small teams.
* Proven client relationship management skills.
