About the role
This is a part-time Allied Health Assistant - Occupational Therapy role with Hospital in Your Home in Townsville, QLD. Reporting to the Occupational Therapy Lead, you will provide high-quality allied health support to patients in their homes, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life. What you'll be doing
* Assist Occupational Therapists in the delivery of evidence-based interventions to clients in their homes
* Implement tailored treatment plans to help clients improve their activities of daily living, mobility, and overall function
* Provide feedback to Occupational Therapists on client progress and any changes in condition
* Liaise with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care
* Maintain accurate client records and documentation in line with organisational policies
* Support the Occupational Therapy team with administrative tasks as required
What we're looking for
* Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent qualification
* Experience working as an Allied Health Assistant, preferably in a home-based or community setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and the multidisciplinary team
* Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and address client needs
* A compassionate, patient-centred approach and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in people's lives
* A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle for travel to client homes
