About Our School
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Kangaroo Point was founded in ****. It is one of the oldest primary schools in the Brisbane Catholic Education system and now serves over 300 students. The school offers excellent programs in arts, academics and sports in a multicultural and contemporary inner-city environment.

About The Opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
Facilitating proactive and preventative practices and initiatives for the holistic development, mental health and wellbeing of students.
Managing counselling and consulting services for students.
Providing psycho-educational and other assessments.
Ensuring BCE protocols and quality processes are implemented.
Maintaining standards of practice.
Applying guidance counselling skills through direct and indirect processes and through systemic, whole-school and individual interventions.
Participating in regular individual and group supervision and mentoring activities for clinical and technical supervision.
About You
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
Successful experience as a Guidance Counsellor in an educational setting with a focus on prevention, intervention and student learning.
Experience in identifying and developing activities to address academic and life career development of students.
Experience in the administration, interpretation and report writing for psycho-educational assessments.
Experience in providing support and leadership in response to student protection issues, critical incidents and risk management.
Collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility And Safeguarding Requirements
Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
Full registration as a Teacher with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) plus a completed Masters in school guidance and counselling, and/or
Full registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
