Our Family Law Services provide safe, supportive alternatives to formal legal processes for families who are separating, separated, or in conflict. The Children’s Contact Service (CCS) plays a vital role in this, providing a safe and child-focused environment for supervised visits and changeovers.

We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team as CCS Support Workers. In this role you will work closely with children and their families to ensure visits are safe, positive, and meaningful. The successful candidates will help facilitate interactions between children and their parents/carers, while supporting the effective daily operations of the CCS. You will help ensure children feel welcome, protected, and supported throughout their time at the service.

This is a varied role where the CCS Support Worker will engage in child-focused play, assist with supervision of visits and transitions, and contribute to administrative tasks and record-keeping. They will be a vital part of a supportive and professional team, committed to the best interests of children and families.

Do you fit the bill?

- A relevant certificate level qualification in community services, childcare, or related area, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and maintain impartiality.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviours and situations.
- A genuine interest in working with children and their separated parents.
- An understanding of child development and of children’s parenting needs
- Awareness of legislative requirements and understanding of risk management including mandatory reporting and knowledge of services available to children and their families.
- Ability to work within and positively advance the mission and values of Relationships Australia Tasmania
- Availability to work predominantly on weekends, with occasional weekday shifts between 8:30am and 6:00pm (minimum 3-hour shifts).
