About the service The Australian Federal Government has provided $13m capital funding to the Victorian Government to establish a new residential eating disorder treatment centre for Victoria. The Victorian Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Centre - Ngamai Wilam will be based in the Alfred Health catchment area and managed and operated by Alfred Health. Alfred Health will provide a state-wide specialist, comprehensive, trauma- informed, and recovery- focused residential eating disorder treatment centre. The centre will be a therapeutic home-like (residential) environment (with 24/7 support) conducive to the provision of treatment and recovery for people experiencing challenges relating to eating disorders and their family and chosen supports. It will provide capacity for day therapy as part of a stepped programme of care. About the Role Applications are invited for a Specialist in Psychiatry to provide excellent clinical expertise and service in Ngamai Wilam. The position is for 11.55 hours per week. Qualifications and Experience Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Psychiatry. Meets Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Psychiatry Experience in teaching and an involvement in research are desirable.
