Join the Team – Toys & Gaming Buyer
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Buyer to lead our Toys and Gaming department. You will build and trade a department range that delivers the strategy, vision and financial KPIs, working collaboratively with stakeholders to drive sales and profitability.
Other Responsibilities
* Build assortment plans to drive sales and profitability
* Work with key external stakeholders locally and internationally to drive market share and deliver a point of difference
* Collaborate with the Planner to develop department strategy with clear focuses
* Own and deliver the product range from development to store execution
* Partner with the Planner to develop tactics in response to current trading results including managing an accurate reforecast process
* Lead the end‐to‐end critical path to ensure launch dates are met
* Manage, coach, develop and support the buyer's assistant and support staff
* Manage department marketing critical path ensuring all cross‐functional stakeholders are kept up to date
* Identify opportunities and implement actions derived through trade analysis
* Leverage customer insights and data to optimise sales
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business or Retail and at least 4 years of experience in Buying, Design or Product Development in a specialty retail environment. Demonstrated ability to lead a supplier and sourcing strategy and experience in implementing merchandise strategy and trading within season are essential, as is a solid understanding of the retail landscape and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in commerce, business or retail (advantage)
* Detailed understanding of product development and manufacturing process
* Experience leading supplier and sourcing strategy
* Experience implementing merchandise strategy and trading within season
* Solid understanding of the retail landscape
* Capability across Merchandise Systems
* Knowledge of relevant compliance legislation and guidelines
