Position: Part-time (0.2 FTE or 1 day per week) contingent on funding. Funding currently confirmed until 31 December 2026.

The position
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated academic to join our team at the Manning Clinical School as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the Joint Medical Program (JMP). In this role, you will contribute to the teaching, assessment, and academic support of Year 3 medical students undertaking their core clinical placements. You will play a key role in curriculum development and demonstrate excellence across Teaching and Learning, Research and Innovation, and Service and Engagement.
About you
You are an experienced educator with a strong commitment to student learning and development. You bring a growing research profile and a collaborative approach to academic and clinical engagement.
To be considered for appointment at Level B (Lecturer), you will have:
- A doctoral qualification/PhD (or near completion) or equivalent accreditation and standing in Medicine.
- Current registration, as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions, notations or conditions.
- Proven experience in teaching, assessment, and/or curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Evidence of leadership through peer mentoring or clinical leadership roles.
- A commitment to collaborative engagement with clinicians and health services to improve healthcare outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- A team-oriented and adaptable approach to supporting all aspects of the Joint Medical Program.
To be considered for appointment at Level C (Senior Lecturer), you will also have:
- Unconditional registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner with AHPRA (or equivalent), with recent clinical experience.
- Active Fellowship with a recognised Australian Specialty College.
- Demonstrated leadership in learning and teaching, including course coordination, curriculum development, and mentoring at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels.
- A strong record of clinical supervision of medical students, junior doctors, and registrars.
- A track record of collaborative, health-related research or quality improvement initiatives.
- Proven leadership and management capabilities.
