Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse - Michael Rice Centre for Haematology and OncologyJob no: ******Work type: Full time, Part timeLocation: Adelaide CBDCategories: Nursing/Midwifery Women's and Children's Health Network, Division of Paediatric Medicine, Michael Rice Centre for Haematology and Oncology, Kaurna Land, North Adelaide 5006 Salary RN/M1 - Registered Nurse LV 1- $74,831.00 to $102,103.00 + Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits RN/M2C - Clinical Nurse LV2 - $87,416.00 to $110,497.00 + Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits Full Time & Part Time Positions Available – Term Contract (Temporary for up to 12 months) About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Haematology and Oncology team as Registered Nurse / Clinical Nurse, where you will be responsible for: Delivering safe, person-centred nursing care to children and youth with haematology and oncology conditions, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and families.
Assessing patient needs, implement therapeutic interventions, and monitor care plans to achieve optimal health outcomes.
Participating in clinical teaching, supporting the learning and development of students and less experienced staff.
Engaging in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical audits, research, and evidence-based practice to enhance service delivery.
Maintaining professional accountability, upholding clinical standards, and promoting a positive, collaborative work environment.
Role-Specific Responsibilities: Registered Nurse (RN/M1): Practicing within the established nursing model, progressively increasing autonomy in care delivery and coordinating multidisciplinary services.
Providing shift-based team leadership, supporting staff and coordinating patient care while participating in incident reviews and risk management.
Clinical Nurse (RN/M2C): Providing proficient clinical leadership within the unit, including overseeing nursing care delivery and managing designated portfolios aligned with career development.
Assisting Nurse Unit Managers in clinical, education, and management activities, including policy development and complex service coordination.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible for a current practicing certificate.
Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritize workload efficiently.
Creative, innovative, and flexible approach to challenges in healthcare settings.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, professional standards, ethics, and Quality Improvement Systems.
Demonstrated competence in nursing practice aligned with professional standards.
As Registered Nurse, minimum of six months post-registration experience in an acute care setting.
As Clinical Nurse, at least 3 years full-time post-registration experience.
