About the Role
* Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders, increase awareness of regulatory and compliance obligations, and act as a trusted advisor.
* Provide ongoing communication and advice on compliance matters and contribute to the development of processes in line with the Board approved risk appetite and Allianz Risk Management Framework.
* Assist in drafting legal notices and reports to regulators when required.
* Contribute to strengthening governance and the compliance framework, and support the implementation and monitoring of compliance plans.
* Support the implementation and promotion of corporate compliance policies.
* Guide management in developing action plans to address breaches.
* Contribute to the development of compliance specific Key Risk Indicators and metrics.
* Support the development of business solutions for incoming regulatory changes.
* Support the business with the development, execution and monitoring of remedial activity for compliance incidents.
* Provide insights on root causes, identify actions to strengthen controls, and ensure compliance incidents are resolved in a timely manner.
* Facilitate control strengthening and compliance assessment on key strategic projects and/or business changes.
* Facilitate workshops with the business for operational compliance plans.
* Review documents for the business as part of the PDDD process.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, legal or accounting background.
* Demonstrated experience at a manager level in compliance management (Line 1 preferred) within a complex, matrixed financial services or insurance organization.
* Experience in compliance advisory and incident management.
* Experience assessing the level of compliance risk and developing and executing mitigation plans.
* Technical understanding of control design and operating effectiveness.
* Experience in process and management control design, coupled with the ability to assess operational and compliance risks.
* Strong partnership and collaboration skills with senior stakeholders, influencing outcomes.
* Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity and provide pragmatic commercial solutions.
* Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret data and inform judgments.
* Deep understanding of laws, legislation, regulations, and prudential standards applicable to a general insurer.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence risk behaviours across Allianz Australia.
