We are seeking to establish a Pool of Visitor Service Officers at the Museum of the Goldfields for vacancies that may arise within the next 24 months with the possibility of Casual, Fixed-term, Part-time, Full-time and Permanent appointments.

About the role

The Visitor Services Officer supports the delivery of welcoming, engaging experiences at the Museum of the Goldfields. The role includes providing customer service and tours, retail operations, assisting with education programs and events, maintaining site presentation, ensuring safety and security, and responding to incidents and emergencies.

About you

We are seeking dynamic, self-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a positive team environment and delivering high quality customer service.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

* Providing exceptional customer service and engaging interpretive tours.
* Supporting education programs and public events.
* Ensuring the safety of visitors and staff, and the security of the Museum's collection.
* Maintaining the presentation of the Museum.
* Retail operations including EFPTOS and cash handing.
* Responding to incidents, administering first aid, and supporting emergency procedures.
* Provide a high standard of security and safety for visitors and the Museum precinct.

Eligibility to Apply

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid Work Visa (for fixed term appointments), or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

A current (within six (6) months) National Police Clearancewill be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department's Police Record Screening Policy.

We also require the following:

* A valid Working with Children Check.

Special Conditions

Requirement to work a roster including weekends and evening shifts (applicable penalties apply).

Pool Recruitment

This Pool will be open for a period of 24 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time, part time and casual appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

Applicants found suitable in this Pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the WA Museum and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport for the duration of the Pool.
