**Your New Career**:
Our Open Space Operations team provides open space maintenance services including vegetation maintenance, grass mowing, garden, playground and recreation reserve maintenance throughout the Surf Coast region. The maintenance of Council parks, reserves and roadsides provides a direct link to Councils Purpose and Direction - _To help our community and environment to thrive._
**About the role**:
This is your opportunity to join a fun and supportive team where you will assist with the vegetation maintenance in Council parks, reserves and road reserves and provide assistance to other team members to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
**Mandatory Requirements (Skills & Experience)**:
- Certificate 3 in Arboriculture
- Current Medium Rigid drivers licence
- Several years' experience in Parks and Open Space / Arboriculture
- Chainsaw level 2
- An industry card
- Current Victorian driver's licence
- You have the Right to live and work in Australia
- A current WWCC
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
**Desirable Requirements**
- Farm Chemical Users Certificate.
- Experience in a Local Government environment.
- First Aid Level 1 Qualification.
- License to operate an Elevated Work Platform.
- Traffic Management Qualification (control traffic using Stop/Slow Bat).
