Lecturer x 2 (Clinical Optometry)
Employment Type: Full‑time (35 hours a week)
Duration: Fixed term until 30 June 2027 (2 positions available)
Remuneration: $127k – $150k base (+17% superannuation and leave loading)
Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia.
Location: Kensington, Sydney
Job responsibilities: Opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high‑quality optometry and vision science education, shaping contemporary teaching and learning experiences. Working closely with senior academics, you will lead the development and redesign of courses, drive innovation in teaching practices and programmatic assessment, and engage collaboratively with staff and stakeholders.
Key skills and qualifications
* Registered optometrist in Australia with ocular therapeutics and clinical optometry expertise.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge and professional development.
* Experience in teaching, curriculum development, learning design and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
* Knowledge of industry or experience of work‑integrated learning (desirable).
* Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds, supporting equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
