About the role
As part of a high-performing legal team, you will sit at the centre of infrastructure finance and corporate strategy. This legal team functions as a strategic unit focused on the "deal" side of the business acting as a co-developer and not just a lawyer. Your advice will directly impact the financial returns of the asset and broader business.
* Advise on the complex legal and commercial frameworks of long-term PPPs, including state-government-backed performance regimes.
* Collaborate with financial sponsors and banks on the multi-million dollar equity and debt arrangements that underpin large-scale projects.
* Manage the legal relationship between the Sponsor / Concessionaire and the Delivery / Construction team.
* Ensure long-term compliance with government concession deeds and environmental/social governance (ESG) standards, which are central to the company's global sustainability master plan.
About you
This role will suit someone who is looking to move in-house or already working in-house and enjoys playing a central role in a project's success
* Experience in ideally Project Finance, PPP / Concession Deeds, and / or Construction
* Mastery of GC21, AS4000, and bespoke Concession / Project Deeds used in Australian government tenders
* The ability to understand the investor's perspective - focusing on capital returns, equity structures, and long-term risk transfer
* Superior communication, influencing and negotiation skills
* Proactive, solution focussed and pragmatic mindset
