Road Safety Inspections Pty Ltd (a subsidiary of Bus Association Victoria) is a Vic Roads licensed heavy and light vehicle inspection facility who is committed to passenger vehicle safety. Vehicle Inspectors are responsible for vehicle inspections and assisting with vehicle registrations.
Key Responsibilities:
· To carry out inspections for roadworthiness, Australian Design Rule and accreditation compliance involving buses, taxis, hire cars, goods vehicles, modified vehicles and private motor cars at approved sites throughout Victoria.
· Carry out roller brake and suspension testing on all types of vehicles as required throughout Victoria.
· Maintain a good working knowledge of all relevant legislative requirements and any updates or amendments that relate to vehicle safety, design requirements, roadworthy requirements, and related documentation.
Qualifications required:
Applicant must be qualified in either heavy or general stream mechanics. It is preferable to have any combination of the following together with strong practical experience
· A current Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence with no conditions (excluding S and Z)
· Licensed Bus Tester Certificate
· Light Vehicle Tester Certificate
· Heavy Vehicle Road Worthy Tester Licence
Work environment:
The working environment for RSI's Vehicle Inspectors will predominantly be throughout the state of Victoria at operator's sites or at the Port Melbourne complex. Vehicle inspectors work in a close team environment and are required to work a variety of hours similar to shift work.
