General Manager Operations
TRANSEARCH International Australia has been exclusively retained to appoint a General Manager Operations for a private equity backed Australian business, located in the Sunshine Coast Region, entering its next phase of growth.
Our client is a high-performing organisation operating nationally within a regulated, safety‑critical product category. The business has a clear and compelling growth trajectory, supported by legislative tailwinds, increasing market demand, and an engaged private equity shareholder focused on building long-term enterprise value through leadership capability and operational maturity.
The operating model is intentionally light touch. Products are manufactured offshore, imported into Australia, and distributed through a concentrated wholesale customer base. Locally, the focus is on customer service, warranty management, logistics coordination, and disciplined operational execution rather than complex manufacturing or asset-heavy operations.
This role has been created to strengthen leadership depth, lift organisational rhythm, and introduce greater structure across people, process, and execution as the business scales.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with accountability for a team of approximately 10 to 12 people across customer service, warranty, logistics, warehousing, and supporting functions.
A defining feature of the role is its strong People and Culture orientation. Approximately 40 to 50 percent of the remit is focused on people leadership, capability uplift, engagement, and organisational discipline, with the balance providing operational oversight and governance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing teams through clear expectations, coaching, and practical performance management
* Establishing calm, effective operational rhythm across customer service, warranty workflows, logistics, and warehouse activity
* Improving policies, procedures, and governance in a way that is fit for purpose and proportionate to the business
* Acting as a steady, trusted leadership presence who brings judgement, structure, and follow‑through
* Partnering closely with the CEO and leadership group to support execution, decision‑making, and sustainable growth
While titled General Manager Operations, this is not a technical operations role. Deep subject-matter expertise already exists within the business. The value of this position lies in people leadership, systems thinking, and general management capability.
