Role Overview:
As a senior structural engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects to our clients. You will be responsible for devising and delivering practical and economical solutions to complex engineering problems.
Key responsibilities of the role include producing designs, documentation, specifications, fee proposals, reports, and other documentation to meet client requirements. You will also manage small design teams of structural engineers and drafters, including planning resource allocation and checking work.
Project Management and Compliance:
* Assume responsibility for managing small, medium, and large-scale projects, including duties such as pricing, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling, and meeting deadlines and budgets.
* Ensure compliance with applicable codes and policies, e.g., workplace health and safety practices and quality assurance.
* Check structural engineers' work and perform other tasks as reasonably requested by a manager or director.
Requirements:
* Member of Engineers Australia, CPEng/NER
* At least 5-6 years' experience in a similar role, with timber experience highly desirable.
* Software skills: Etabs, Spacegass, RAM, RAPT
* Site experience highly desirable – at least one building project with site attendance.
* Ability to prioritize incoming work appropriately.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
* Problem-solving and analytical skills.
